Capuchino Mustangs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to Carlmont on Thursday. Carlmont scored on a double by Tayler Wise and a single by Logan Bonetti in the first inning.

The Capuchino Mustangs Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Carlmont, giving up 11 runs.

Carlmont fired up the offense in the first inning, when Wise doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Carlmont scored four runs in the fifth inning. Carlmont’s big inning was driven by a single by Wise, an error on a ball put in play by Bonetti, and a double by Eimear Cunningham.

Sanni Karhiaho got the win for Carlmont. She went five innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out four and walking zero.

Isabel Real took the loss for Capuchino Mustangs Varsity. She allowed 11 hits and 11 runs over four and two-thirds innings.

Julianna Ceron led Capuchino Mustangs Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Carlmont racked up 11 hits in the game. Wise and Cunningham each collected multiple hits for Carlmont. Wise went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Carlmont in hits.
