A walk-off left Capuchino Mustangs Varsity on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Woodside on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Woodside batting in the bottom of the seventh when Sydney Grech singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Woodside pitchers struck out one, while Capuchino Mustangs Varsity sat down five.

Woodside evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning. Gianna Voltattorni drove in one when she singled.

Madi Truesdale got the win for Woodside. She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Isabel Real took the loss for Capuchino Mustangs Varsity. She surrendered two runs on eight hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.

Nichole Bernal, Grace Rofii, Jaisa Gamble, and Julianna Ceron all had one hit to lead Capuchino Mustangs Varsity. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gabriella Gonzalez had the most chances in the field with five.

Voltattorni led Woodside with two hits in three at bats.
