Capuchino Mustangs Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Hillsdale on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Capuchino Mustangs Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Bailey O’Mahony singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Hillsdale tied things up at two when Isabel Real induced Brianna Santos to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Real pitched Capuchino Mustangs Varsity to victory. She lasted eight innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five.
Sydney Nagamine took the loss for Hillsdale. She went eight innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.
O’Mahony led Capuchino Mustangs Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
Spohia Eftekhari went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Hillsdale in hits.
