There were runs aplenty on Friday, as Capuchino Mustangs Varsity defeated Mills 15-11. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity captured the lead in the second inning. Nick Balch drove in one when he singled. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity knotted the game up at seven in the bottom of the third inning. Conor Meehan singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Frank Pellegrini singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Ryan Lapuyade singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity scored five runs in the fifth inning. Ryan Lordier and Lapuyade all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Diego Morales was credited with the victory for Capuchino Mustangs Varsity. He surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out five. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity tallied 18 hits. Patrick Volkman, Lordier, Balch, Lapuyade, Meehan, Tyler Firpo, and Pellegrini each had multiple hits for Capuchino Mustangs Varsity. Volkman went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Capuchino Mustangs Varsity in hits. Capuchino Mustangs Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Justin Verna made the most plays with eight.
