Girls Varsity Golf · Mustangs Wrap up Fall Season with Strong Showing in PAL Tournament

San Bruno-Our Girls golf team finished the season in 2nd place with 4 wins 3 loses and a tie in the North division of the PAL.    Capuchino had two girls selected into the PAL finals at Poplar Creek golf course for the 18 hole league championship.   Senior Emily Vasil our number one player throughout the year  finished with a good showing and respectable score of 97 and finished 20th in the field.    Sophomore Ava Cordero also played some nice golf shooting 100 and finishing in 24th place.    Ava on hole number 5 almost made a hole-in-one missing by 3 feet but she sank the downhill putt for a birdie and should be one of the top players in the PAL next year returning for her junior year!

Coach’s Quote

“I’m so proud of the way our girls competed in PAL league matches this season.   The girls on the team have a great attitude and are always pulling for their teammates and even competitors for that matter.”  Said head coach Marty Ruiz.   While we played much better at the end of the year, I think the girls understand that working on your game in the winter months will help for next season.  Overall, we had a solid fall season with a young team.  The future of Girls golf here at Capuchino looks very bright!”
