Capuchino boys basketball completed a very successful week of competition by winning their home opener  Friday night in front of a packed house 71-67 versus James Lick of San Jose the senior trio of Marquez Mozeke,  AJ Macarage and Brian Grealish combining for 58 points doomed the comets.   The team made 11 three point baskets on the night and showed the firepower and quick strike attack that the 2016-2017 team processes.   Junior Trey Zahursky and Senior Bryce Delmacio played key roles on the defense end of the court with their all-out hustle and smarts in the closing minutes of the game to seal the victory for the Mustangs.

Capuchino completed the two game weekend sweep on the road the next night at San Jose high with a commanding 66-33 win versus the bulldogs.  The Mustangs opened the game 24 to 6 first quarter and never looked back!   The big three of Mozeke, Macarage and Grealish this time posted 48 points together and made for an easy victory on the road.   Key players off the bench George Errington,  Abe Masoperah and Jared Rogge showed that Capuchino is developing a bench to help for up-coming PAL league play.   The Mustangs 4-2 on the season will now take a break to study and get ready for finals next week!

The Mustangs will return to the court next Monday night versus CCS power Pioneer of San Jose (3-3) for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
